Visit Lassithi Plataeu

Birthplace of Zeus – Experience the mountainous eastern part of Crete like a local

Starting our experience from the south, we will pick you up from your accommodation and start our tour heading towards Lassithi plateau. En route we will stop at a small village for a nice coffee and to see the locals at their Kafeneion (traditional local coffee shops) . After our short stop we will continue towards the plateau. On the way of course we will be stopping for pictures. We will drive through the village of Krasi with the impressive plane tree, then continue for the monastery of Virgin Mary Kera Kardiotissa. After our guided tour in the church, some free time and we will continue for the Cave of Zeus, Psychron Cave. Amazing view, overlooking the impressive plateau, where the farmers nowadays cultivate agricultural products to supply the central markets of the island, Athens and the nearby small islands during the summer season. It will be soon time for lunch and the Lassithi plateau offers many options, traditional tavernas for a nice snack of lunch. We will continue to drive around the plateau, along the way we are flexible to stop for pictures. This is a full day tour, estimate to be back at your accommodation ( depending on the starting time around 16.00 or later)

This tour can be combined as a tour – transfer for guests that wish to relocate from the south of Crete to the east ( Elounda area, Agios Nikolaos, Istron )
